DeTHOMASIS, Carmela (nee Mancini) – Passed away peacefully on October 5, 2015 at 87 years of age surrounded by her loving family.

Beloved wife of Valentino for 67 years. Loving Mother to Antoinette and husband Ernest Pecaski, Anna and husband Gino Savo. Cherished Nana to Deanna McLennan (Trevor), Anthony Pecaski (Dana), Melissa Newman (Michael), Michael Savo (Katie). Dear Great Nana to Cadence, Caleb, Quinn, Lucus, Joshua and Carter. Predeceased by her parents Pietro and Anna Mancini. Survived by her sister Nunziata Mastrodicasa (late Francesco), predeceased by Rocco Mancini (Marietta), Antonio Mancini (Carmela), Concetta Leardi (Giuseppe), Assunta D’ Amore (Santino), Maria Mancini, Ermigildo Mancini.

Dear sister-in-law of Elcina DeThomasis (late Giovanni), Angelo DeThomasis (Pierina), Rosa DeThomasis (Ivo), Maria DeThomasis (late Dino), late Andrea DeThomasis, Rocco DeThomasis (Patrizia), Nicoletta DeThomasis (Nicola).

Carmela was a member of the Verdi Giovani Pensionati and the Verdi Club Folkloristic Group. Carmela loved her family dearly. She enjoyed cooking for them and hosting family get togethers. She took pleasure in knitting and crocheting and spending time with her friends. If you so desire, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.

Families First Funeral Home at 585 Sandwich Street S. in Amherstburg, Ontario will host visitation on Wednesday October 7 from 3-6 and 7-9 p.m. with parish prayers at 8:00 p.m.

Funeral Service on Thursday October 8 at the funeral home at 9:45 a.m. then proceeding to St. John the Baptist Church, 225 Brock Street in Amherstburg for 10:30 a.m. Mass. Entombment to follow.
